Used Car Reliabilty
Before you buy a used car you want to make sure it won't
break down within weeks of purchasing it. Used car
reliability can be determined by using the Kelley Blue Book
Used Car Guide®.
The Kelley Blue Book® allows consumers to find out what the
value of a vehicle is whether your purchasing from a
dealership, private party, or trading you old vehicle in. A
rating is given to each make and model of vehicles. Keep in
mind that the values may change depending on different
factors in your local area. One specific vehicle may be
worth more in one area than in another just because of the
popularity of that vehicle.
The Kelley Blue Book® rates used vehicles as either
excellent or good. To get a rating of excellent the used car
must look great, need no inside reconditioning, and is
mechanically sound with no needed repairs. Also, the outside
has no paint blemishes and has no visible defects such as
rust. The vehicles tires are either new or recently
purchased and the title is free and clear.
A good rating by the Kelley Blue Book® implies that the
vehicle has no visible impurities or damage. The interior of
the car has only minor flaws if any at all and there are no
major mechanical issues. The tires have only minimal wear
and tear and the threading is still good. A car rated as
"good" may need to have some reconditioning that needs to be
done and this cost should be deducted from the cars value.
Used car reliability can either make or break a deal. It is
vital to most consumers that they purchase a used car that
will meet their traveling needs without breaking down or
costing them money to do repairs. The best advice you can
get before purchasing a used car is to find out as much
information on the vehicles condition and reliability as
possible. The Kelley Blue Book® is the best place to start.
